Keynote - Experiments, the Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful - Linda Rising
I have given several presentations about the use of stories instead of science in our industry, so I thought I should try to be more helpful and give a session on experiments. No, this is not too rigorous! I am not going to talk about statistics! I am going to talk about cheap, easy experiments, what to do, what to be aware of, including our cognitive biases. I share some of my experiences with teams who are really doing it. My goal is to encourage everyone to be a bit more methodical in decision-making and to replace "that won't work" with "how can we test it." I hope that participants will walk out the door with an idea for one or more experiments to run in their workplace.

Keynote - Learning from Self-Managing Organizations - Karin Tenelius
Leadership in corporations is traditionally thought of as the responsibility of CEOs to push managers to drive profit for shareholder satisfaction. As sustainable practices become increasingly commonplace in the private sector, employee well-being, change management, self-selection, and design thinking among other topics take center stage. Without managers everyone has to provide leadership to have things work. The eternal question then arises: what is leadership when it is not the manager’s job? How does leadership emerge in a group? What are the leadership skills needed? We'll explore these ideas and more in this fascinating session.
